Bulgaria Needs Homeschool Freedom
Homeschooling is allowed only in limited situations in Bulgaria. Only children with special physical or mental educational needs can stay and study at home, but they still must follow the government's educational programs closely and are required to be integrated with a registered legal public or private school.
Homeschooling for most families is prohibited by educational authorities in Bulgaria. Families who chose to homeschool can be subject to fines or even jail. At this point, less than 100 known homeschoolers operate in Bulgaria.
Home School Legal Defense Association will be working with Bulgaria homeschoolers to legalize homeschooling in this country.
