Homeschooled Leader: Patrick Henry
| Vol. 81, Prg. 31-35 April 21-25, 2008
Everyone recognizes Patrick Henry’s famous words, “Give me liberty or give me death!” Probably less people realize that it took an extraordinary education to develop the talented Henry into one of America’s most influential statesmen. On this week’s edition of Home School Heartbeat, Mike Smith describes the biblically-grounded training Henry received from his father. Because of this emphasis on Christian principles, Henry knew that America could not succeed without being dedicated to righteousness. Henry’s perceptive understanding of the cost of liberty—and his willingness to sacrifice everything for it—would one day earn him the title “Trumpet of the American Revolution.”
Mike Smith ends this week’s programs by discussing how Henry’s namesake, Patrick Henry College, is continuing the legacy of righteousness and freedom.
